These rules are posted at the entrance to the Dogpark so no one can say they did not see them!

Dog owners/guardians must accept full responsibility for themselves and guests and their dog while in the park. Owners are legally responsible for any damage, injury, or illness your dog may cause to other dogs, people or yourself. Violations may be reported.

1. Owners must carry a leash at all times. Please leash and unleash your dog inside the double-gated holding area.

· Why: If any kind of disturbance starts, you want the ability to get your dog away quickly.

2. Dogs must wear a collar with identification at all times, be vaccinated and healthy

· Why: Animal control has the right to check for current vaccinations and could fine violators.

3. Dogs showing aggression towards people or other dogs must be immediately removed from the park by the owner/guardian

· Why: Aggression escalates.

4. Dogs must be within sight and voice control of their owner/guardian. Owner/Guardian must be within the fenced enclosure at all times

· Why: Dog owners/guardians must accept full responsibility for themselves and guests and their dog while in the park. Owners are legally responsible for any damage, injury, or illness your dog may cause to other dogs, people or yourself. Violations may be reported.

5. For children's safety, keep them closely supervised

· Why: We want to keep this a family park.

6. Owners must clean up after their dogs. Waste disposal bags and receptacles are provided

· How: Put your hand inside the bag, pick it up, and pull the bag back over your hand. It’s safe & clean.

7. Owners shall prevent their dog from digging and repair any damage

· Why: Holes can be stepped in causing a fall or worse. And they collect water causing mud

8. Park is open from dawn until dusk, except during maintenance

· Why: There is no lighting AND the grass must be watered and mowed.

9. Puppies under four months of age are prohibited

· Why: Until they’ve had their shots, they are not safe against kennel cough and other diseases some other dog may have brought into the dog park.

10. No food or drink is allowed inside the Dogpark

· Why: Dogs can smell food inside baggies. Some dogs have possession issues over toys, balls and Frisbees.

11. Dogs in heat are not allowed inside the Dogpark

· Why: A diapered female will incite the male dogs to try to mate. This will cause fights.

12. This is your Dogpark -- keep it in a clean condition

· Why: Because it is YOUR Dogpark

• Remember:  Central Bark belongs to ALL of US.  Take ownership!  If someone misses a pile, let them know.  If you see one, be a dog's best friend and pick it up (includes the sidewalk and the parking lot)!
